Here comes the bus! Are we ready?
New clothes! School supplies! The Moms have stimulated the economy to the max!
Izzy takes a slightly later bus, and carries a slightly bigger backpack--in fact, it looks so heavy, it's drooping!
But she's got a smile, too!
Aidan is a proud first grader and he's got the biggest smile of all! He's excited this morning because he gets to go to school ALL day and eat lunch in the cafeteria, too!
(I give that zeal one week!)
On the other hand, his mom's all emotional today--excited for her first full day at home alone in years, yet so sad to send off her precious baby boy.
Bailey's on the last bus and she's the big middle schooler with the enormous backpack. It's so heavy, she's tipping over!
And that's the story of life...the backpack just keeps getting bigger!
Chase is the lucky zombie on the couch. His school doesn't start till tomorrow-- his first day of high school. As his Nana, I feel obligated to protest the hideously large and burdensome backpack he will be forced to carry this year; one that will surely crimp his spine and give him pain in middle age, and should truly be against the law...but, that's tomorrow...

You have THE most beautiful grandkids :) I hope this is a fun-filled year full of learning. Um so glad you're over there with them watching them grow!
And...I totally remember being a first grader and feeling so big (not literally but you know what I mean, LOL). I love little Aidan's zeal!
I love you,
Maisha
David starts tomorrow, too. It's his senior year. You know how fast it goes!
I'm so thankful that you are an "involved" Nana. There is no substitute for loving grandparents! Blessings on their/your year.
Yes, they are all smart and attractive kiddos. Very cute how you graduated the backpacks and sent them all off to school. I give them a week too and they'll be ready to sleep in.
I don't like big backpacks either. I use to teach and you really don't need all that homework.
So sorry for the sad faced momma and her baby going off to school. I hated that too.
Oh my gosh! They're growing up so fast! They're so beautiful too! I'm so happy that you are there to share in their lives. There's no substitute for those precious moments and memories.
Much love,
Jeri
Wow! They are all growing so fast! I always love the 1st days of school! Excited and scared all at the same time. What will the new year be like! A fresh star! I am so glad you get to be there to share in the excitement! Ecclesiastes is so true. To everything there is a season. Right now it's grandchildren and fresh new beginnings! Love you!
