We Remember You

A memorial stone under a tree in JoAnne's backyard.
John 6:39-40 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

I am just one of a host of friends, family, ohana and aquaintances who are praying for you guys today. Not that we have ever stopped over the past year. Our hearts ache with yours. Our memories of Joey are ever present. We miss Joey. We miss you and Joe. We love you.

Praying for all of you today. I know Joey is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus, having a big celebration with the friends that are already there and the angels.
I can see Joey and Kit having a jamming time together!

In a few minutes, the boys and I are going to visit Joey's wall. We want you to know that we remember. We remember you, and how you shower us with wisdom and grace in the midst of your own sorrow; we remember your family, and how each one of them loves with a passion and clarity we all desire; we remember Joey and how he brought smiles to our faces and light to our eyes.

While on my run this morning, I was thinking and praying for all of you. It is no conincidence that in 20 short minutes the song, "Blessed Be Your Name," came up twice on my iPod. It reminded me of how you demonstrate to us how to walk in faith through the valleys and peaks of life. Please know that we are here for you in all these times.

We love you dearly.

Hi Joe and Karen,
The rock in the garden for Joey is beautiful. We were at the wall overlooking the ocean outside your condo today. There were flowers put there knowing you would have wanted us to carry on what you had left off, in memory of Joey. He had given all of us something, even if it was as passing as his contagious smile, it was a blessing we took with us. I pray you two and your family be comforted by our loving Father today and along this journey.
With love and aloha,
Natalie

I know Bill has been writing often this week, but I wanted to share too. My intention was to wait until last night after we got home from Joey's 1 year Memorial Service gathering at the wall. It was beautiful and very honoring. We spoke of Joey's life and the love and joy that he brought to so many people. We spoke of your love and modeling that helped form Joey into an incredible young man. We spoke of your enduring faith and love of Jesus in the midst of the deepest grief you have ever known.

The entire Johnson Ohana has been in the thoughts and prayers of the entire Kepler Ohana today, yesterday, and everyday for the past year. And I promise it won't stop now!

Our whole family was at Keanae last weekend to have one last time time together before Kelly, Kevin, Kainoa, and little Keahi move to Washington next Thursday. We read and reminisced about life shared together throughout the pages of our Journal. The Journal is rich with adventures and pearls of wisdom that Joey left wrapped within its pages.

So, dear friends, we will always remain "hopelessly devoted to you" and to keeping Joey's memory alive,

Love and hugs, Lu Kepler
